Privacy Policy

Short version: We collect only what's needed to run Vouch. We don't sell your data. Your customers' emails and reviews are yours — we store them to power the service and never share them with third parties for marketing purposes.

This Privacy Policy explains how Vouch ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our platform at vouch.reviews. By using Vouch, you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account information (from you):

Name and email address when you sign up
Business name and profile details you provide
Payment method details (handled and stored by Stripe — we never see your full card number)

Review page and testimonial data (from your customers):

Customer names and email addresses submitted with testimonials
Review text, star ratings, and any other content customers submit through your review pages
Timestamps and basic metadata associated with submissions

Usage data (automatically collected):

Pages visited, features used, and actions taken within the app
Browser type, device type, and operating system
IP address and general location (country/region)
Referring URLs and session duration

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

Provide and maintain the Vouch platform
Process payments and manage your subscription
Send transactional emails (new testimonial notifications, billing receipts, account alerts)
Respond to your support requests
Improve the platform based on usage patterns
Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your data or your customers' data for advertising. We do not sell personal information to third parties.

3. Third-Party Services

Vouch integrates with these third-party services:

Stripe — Payment processing. When you subscribe to a paid plan, Stripe handles your payment information. Stripe's privacy policy is at stripe.com/privacy. We share only what's necessary (name, email) to process your subscription.

Google Analytics — Website analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our marketing pages. This collects anonymized usage data including page views, session duration, and general location. You can opt out via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Google's privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.

We may also use infrastructure providers (hosting, database, email delivery) who process data on our behalf under appropriate data processing agreements.

4. Cookies

Vouch uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to:

Session cookies: Keep you logged in while you use the app
Analytics cookies: Understand how the site is used (via Google Analytics)
Preference cookies: Remember your settings

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features of Vouch may not work correctly without them.

5. Your Customers' Data

When your customers submit testimonials through your Vouch review pages, we collect their submitted information (name, email, review content) on your behalf. In this context, you are the data controller and we are the data processor.

You are responsible for:

Having a legal basis to collect your customers' data (e.g., their consent)
Informing your customers that their testimonial data is collected and may be displayed publicly
Handling any customer requests to delete or modify their submitted data

We will assist you in fulfilling customer data requests within our platform capabilities. Contact support@vouch.reviews for data deletion requests.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers with encryption at rest and in transit (HTTPS/TLS). We use industry-standard security practices including:

Encrypted database connections
Access controls limiting who can view your data
Regular security reviews

7. Data Retention

We retain your data as long as your account is active. When you delete your account:

Your profile and review pages are deleted within 30 days
Testimonial data submitted by your customers is deleted along with your account
Billing records may be retained for up to 7 years as required by financial regulations
Anonymized, aggregated usage analytics may be retained indefinitely

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate data
Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data
Portability: Request your data in a portable format
Objection: Object to certain uses of your data

9. Children's Privacy

Vouch is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information to our platform, contact us at hello@vouch.reviews and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we'll notify you by email or through the platform. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
